JAKARTA, investortrust.id – Public trust in President Prabowo Subianto and the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) remains high, according to a recent survey conducted by Indikator Politik Indonesia. The poll, conducted between May 17 and May 20, 2025, involved 1,286 respondents across the country.
The results revealed that the TNI and the presidency are the two most trusted state institutions. Burhanuddin Muhtadi, Executive Director of Indikator Politik Indonesia, announced the findings during a virtual press briefing on Tuesday, May 27.
“Trust in the TNI and the President remains the highest. Around 85% of respondents expressed trust in the military, while 82% trusted the President,” Burhanuddin said.
Trust in the presidency stood at 82.7%, a figure derived from 17.3% of respondents saying they “strongly trust” and 64% saying they “somewhat trust” the institution. The TNI topped the list with 23.9% expressing strong trust and 61.8% somewhat trusting the armed forces.
“This is about institutional trust, not individual approval ratings,” Burhanuddin emphasized.
Other institutions also recorded relatively high levels of public trust. The Attorney General’s Office (Kejaksaan Agung) garnered 76%, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) 72.6%, and the National Police (Polri) 72.2%. The House of Representatives (DPR) followed with 71.0%. Meanwhile, political parties (parpol) ranked the lowest, with a trust level of 65.6%.
Burhanuddin, a professor of political science at Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University, noted that the survey had a margin of error of approximately 2.8% at a 95% confidence level, using a simple random sampling method.
