● Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin said school-based checks will begin next month, aiming to expand the program to 50 million people.

JAKARTA, investortrust.id — Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin said that 7.8 million Indonesians have received free health screenings under a flagship initiative launched by President Prabowo Subianto.

Speaking after a meeting with the President at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, Budi said the program had reached millions since its launch earlier this year.

“That’s his [Prabowo’s] program. As of yesterday, 7.8 million Indonesians have received free health checks,” Budi told reporters.

The program, which operates across public health centers, is reportedly screening around 200,000 people daily—equivalent to 5 million per month.

Most Common Diseases Detected

President Prabowo, according to Budi, had asked about the most frequently diagnosed conditions through the initiative.

“In babies, congenital heart disease is what we’re finding most often. The rate of congenital heart defects is high,” said Budi.

For toddlers, dental problems are the most prevalent. Among adults and the elderly, hypertension and diabetes dominate the list.

“Toddlers are showing a high rate of dental issues,” he said. “For adults and seniors, it’s high blood pressure and diabetes.”

School-Based Expansion Coming Next Month

Budi added that the Ministry of Health will begin offering health checks in schools starting next month, with a target of screening up to 50 million Indonesians.

“We're planning to start the school health checks next month,” he said. “Our goal is for 50 million Indonesians to receive free screenings.”
