JAKARTA, Investortrust.id — President Prabowo Subianto has departed for Thailand on an official visit aimed at strengthening bilateral relations between Indonesia and the Southeast Asian nation.
The President and a limited delegation took off from Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base in Jakarta at around 6:50 p.m. local time on Saturday, May 17, 2025.
Major General Rafael Granada Baay, Commander of Jakarta Regional Military Command; Inspector General Karyoto, Chief of Jakarta Police; Air Vice Marshal Muzafar, Commander of Air Operations Command I; and Air Vice Marshal Erwin Sugiandi, Commander of Halim Air Force Base, saw off the delegation.
While in Thailand, President Prabowo is scheduled to hold key engagements focused on diplomacy and regional cooperation.
“President Prabowo is set to hold an official audience with King Maha Vajiralongkorn, followed by a ceremonial welcome from Thai Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra and a bilateral meeting between the two nations’ delegations,” said Yusuf Permana, Deputy for Protocol, Press, and Media at the Presidential Secretariat, in a written statement.
This official visit underscores Prabowo’s commitment to enhancing Indonesia’s strategic partnerships across Southeast Asia, particularly with Thailand, a long-standing regional partner in multiple key sectors.
President Prabowo is accompanied on the trip by Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.
