JAKARTA, investortrust.id — Indonesia’s main business lobby has reaffirmed its commitment to deepening economic cooperation with Chinese enterprises, centering efforts on three strategic priorities: technological collaboration, supply chain integration, and cultural engagement.

The move came during a formal visit by the Association of Guangdong–Indonesia for the Promotion of Trade to Kadin Indonesia’s headquarters in Jakarta on Thursday, June 5, 2025. Kadin Chairman Anindya Bakrie hosted the delegation, accompanied by Deputy Chairman for Export Development and Coordination Frits Novianto Suhendar and other senior officials.

Anindya expressed optimism that the cooperation would enhance bilateral business ties across a wide range of sectors. In his remarks, he emphasized the potential for Kadin Indonesia and Chinese business associations to expand collaboration that benefits both economies.

During the event, he presented a partnership plaque to Andy Guo, President of the Guangdong–Indonesia trade group, symbolizing the strengthened commitment between the two organizations.

The visit was part of Kadin’s broader economic diplomacy agenda under the “Chinese Power, Indonesia Action” initiative, which falls within the chamber’s Together platform. Frits described the initiative as a key step in promoting strategic alliances between Indonesian and Chinese enterprises.

The delegation from Guangdong included 15 business representatives, spanning industries such as hotel furnishings, green construction, metal fabrication, new-energy vessels, and environmentally friendly coating systems. Many of them voiced interest in exploring joint ventures, direct investment, and product distribution opportunities in Indonesia.

Discussions during the meeting emphasized joint efforts in advanced manufacturing and green energy technologies, underscoring the role of innovation in both countries’ industrial development. Delegates also examined ways to improve cross-border market access by building digital platforms that enable co-branded products from Indonesia and China to reach a wider audience.

Another major theme was cultural exchange and corporate social responsibility, with both sides underscoring the value of intercultural understanding and ethical business conduct. The Chinese delegation expressed interest in learning from Indonesia’s approach to community development and in contributing to inclusive and sustainable growth.

Frits noted that the chamber welcomed concrete steps to build synergy between Indonesian and Chinese business players. He said such partnerships would likely boost national exports and accelerate industrial transformation through innovation.

Andy Guo, for his part, stated that Chinese companies hoped to study Indonesia’s best practices in fostering social responsibility while also advancing long-term, mutually beneficial business cooperation.

The meeting was seen as a pivotal moment in bilateral trade relations, as both parties agreed to pursue a framework based on sustainable growth, inclusivity, and shared economic opportunity.
